ARLINGTON, Va. -- The U.S. Senate recently confirmed the nomination for promotion of the leader of the Department of the Air Force’s Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management (DAF PEO C3BM).

Maj. Gen. Luke Cropsey will promote to lieutenant general and be assigned as commander of the Air Force Information Dominance Systems Center (AFIDSC). He will be dual hatted as AFIDSC commander and PEO C3BM. Along with C3BM, the Cyber and Networks, Electronic Systems, and Business Enterprise Systems directorates will realign from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center to AFIDSC.

“Our commitment to C3BM and delivering the DAF BATTLE NETWORK has never wavered and never faltered,” Cropsey said. “The creation of the Information Dominance Systems Center is a sign our Airmen and Guardians are driving innovation and excellence to ensure our Nation is ready to face tomorrow’s challenges, today.”

The Air Force announced the creation of AFIDSC within Air Force Materiel Command as part of the service’s Great Power Competition initiative to strengthen and elevate the Air Force’s focus on Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management; Cyber; Electronic Warfare; Information Systems; and Enterprise Digital Infrastructure.

In November 2024, the Air Force announced Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts, as the sole candidate location for the center headquarters with standup anticipated in 2025. The department anticipates making a final basing decision this spring.
